FX will let you watch its shows without commercials — if you pay an extra $6 a month

By May 17, 2018No Comments

Fox’s FX/FXX has followed AMC’s lead and introduced a commercial free option for Comcast customers.

The cost is $6 per month compared to $5 for AMC.

Available to 19m Comcast customers only.

The math:
1) With a $25.00/CPM for 30-second spots and 16 minutes of commercials per hour
2) There are 32 30-second spots per hour
3) Fox would get $0.80 per hour in advertising revenue per viewer
4) At $4.99/month for no ads, Fox makes more $ from anyone who watches less than 7.5 hours per month.
